Meet Dr. Pingree

Dr. Pingree has retired as of August 31, 2008, and has turned over the responsibility of treating his patient’s to Dr. Watterworth.

Dr. Pingree was born in Georgetown, Massachusetts, attended schools there, at Tufts University, and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation from dental school at the head of his class, Dr. Pingree served as a dental officer with the Second Marine Division at Camp Lejeune and with the 6th Fleet in Europe.

Following military service, Dr. Pingree returned to Tufts for specialty training in orthodontics, completing the program in 1968, when he started his practice in Portsmouth, NH.

Dr. Pingree has always been interested in athletics, having captained high school basketball and baseball teams, played baseball in college and in the semi-professional Northeast League. He coached the Post 6 American Legion Team, as well as teams in the Rye Little League and the Portsmouth Babe Ruth League. Other interests have been flying, tennis, scuba, sailing, wind surfing, hunting and fishing. Currently boating and golf occupy his leisure time.

Dr. Pingree has a son, Jim, who lives in Aruba, and a daughter, Lynne, who lives with her husband Tom and their two children in Durham, NH.
